Why Is My YESKAMO Camera Not Recording?

A step-by-step checklist for when your YESKAMO camera isn't saving clips — SD card, recording mode, motion detection, and offline checks.

If your YESKAMO camera shows live video but no recordings appear in the timeline or on the SD card, the cause is almost always storage, a recording setting, or the camera being offline at the moment events happened. Work through this checklist in order.

Tested with the YESKAMO app v4.9.7 (June 2026).

1. Check the SD card

Most "not recording" reports come down to storage.

  1. Open the camera, tap Settings → Storage (or SD Card).
  2. Confirm the card is detected and shows free space. If capacity reads 0 MB or "abnormal," the card isn't readable.
  3. If the card is full and loop recording is off, recording stops — turn on Loop Recording (overwrite oldest) or swap in a larger card.
  4. Format the card in the app the first time you use it. A card formatted on a PC often won't record. Formatting erases existing clips, so back up first.

Use a quality microSD card (Class 10 / U3). Cards larger than 256 GB or counterfeit cards are a common silent failure.

2. Check the recording mode

  1. Go to Settings → Recording (sometimes Record Plan).
  2. Make sure recording is set to All-day (continuous) or Event/Motion, not Off.
  3. If you only want clips on movement, confirm Motion Detection is enabled (next step). With motion-only recording and detection off, nothing records.
  4. Check any recording schedule — if a time window is set, the camera won't record outside it.

3. Check motion detection and alerts

  1. Open Settings → Detection / Alarm.
  2. Enable Motion Detection and raise Sensitivity if events are being missed.
  3. Confirm no schedule or detection zone is excluding the area you care about.

4. Confirm the camera is actually online

A camera that drops offline can't record to the cloud, and battery/solar models may sleep. If live view is also failing, follow the offline troubleshooting guide.

5. Cloud vs. local recording

Cloud event recording requires an active paid cloud plan. If your plan expired, local SD recording still works but cloud clips stop. Check your plan under Settings → Cloud Storage.

Still nothing?

Reboot the camera, then re-check storage. If the SD card still isn't recognized after formatting, try a different card. Persisting issues after a factory reset and firmware update likely mean a hardware fault — contact [email protected].
