5. Connecting the camera as a standalone unit

When you first use the product, you need to do the initial setup with a smartphone. After that, you can easily add it on other phones, PCs or tablets using its Cloud ID.

5.1 Download the app on your smartphone

Search for YESKAMO in your phone's app store or Google Play and download it. It works on Android 5.1 / iOS 9.0 and above. If you can't find the app, scan the QR code below.

Note

The app may be updated, so the screens below are for reference only.

5.2 Install and register

On the app's Login screen, tap Register first, then enter your user name, password, phone number and so on, and log in.

App login and registration screens

Once registration is complete, your home screen will look like this:

App home screen after registration

5.3 Powering on the camera

Insert and format the microSD card. The card must be 16 GB–256 GB (FAT32, Class 10 or higher). Format it before inserting it into the camera; you can also format the memory card from Settings → Storage in the app.

Only insert or remove the microSD card while the camera is powered off.

Connect the power. Plug the 5V/1A adapter into the camera, then into a wall outlet.

Prepare your Wi-Fi. This camera needs a Wi-Fi environment. For the first setup, connect your phone to your home Wi-Fi and, when adding the camera, enter your home Wi-Fi name and password. After a successful setup, your phone can monitor the camera remotely over mobile data.

Insert microSD, connect power and prepare the Wi-Fi router

Reset the camera. Press and hold the reset button for 5–10 seconds. You will hear "ding-dong", and about five seconds later the camera rotates automatically and plays a "bi-bi-bi" tone. A blue blinking indicator means it is waiting for a Wi-Fi connection.

The Minion-style camera has no indicator lamp, so check its status by the voice prompt and the automatic rotation instead.

5.4 Adding the device in the YESKAMO app

On the app's main screen, go to Devices → top-right "+" (or Add camera), then scan the QR code shown on the camera body.

Device list and QR scan add screen

On the add screen, tap Add.

Confirm the scanned device and tap Add

Check the device status. If the indicator is blinking, tap "Device light is blinking". If it is not blinking, hold the reset button to reset the device.

Confirm the device indicator is blinking

On the Select add mode screen, tap Remote view.

Select add mode and choose Remote view

On the Wi-Fi connection screen, enter your Wi-Fi name and password in half-width characters, then tap Next.

Enter the Wi-Fi name and password in half-width alphanumeric characters — full-width characters will cause an error. This product supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi only (select the 2.4GHz band, not 5GHz). For example, on an NEC A-TERM router the 2.4GHz band is aterm-XXXXXX-g and the 5GHz band is aterm-XXXXXX-a, so connect to the one ending in -g.

Enter the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi name and password

Scan the QR code. Hold the QR code shown on your phone 15–25 cm in front of the camera lens, and wait for the prompt tone. When you hear "connection succeeded", the on-screen progress bar moves; once it reaches 100% the network setup is complete. Enter any device name and tap Add to device list.

Scan the QR code and complete the network setup

If the setup fails, reset the camera and try again from the start. If it still fails, please contact our customer service center.

6. Using the camera as an add-on

This camera can only be added to a YESKAMO wireless security camera kit. For that, you may need to upgrade the recorder's firmware version, so please contact us first at [email protected].

  1. Power on the camera with its adapter.
  2. Press and hold the reset button for 5 seconds; the camera plays a "bi-bi" tone.
  3. Place the camera near the wireless recorder, right-click on the monitor and choose Add.
  4. Search; when new camera information appears under IP address, wait for it to connect.
  5. After the camera image appears, click Finish.
