Reset a YESKAMO Camera and Update Firmware
How to factory reset a YESKAMO camera with the reset button and how to update its firmware safely without bricking the device.
A factory reset clears Wi-Fi credentials and settings so you can re-pair a stuck camera, and a firmware update fixes bugs and connection issues. Both are safe when done right. This guide covers both.
Tested with the YESKAMO app v4.9.7 (June 2026).
When to reset
Reset the camera if it won't come online, you changed your Wi-Fi, you forgot the device password, or you're giving the camera to someone else. A reset does not erase footage already saved on the SD card.
How to factory reset with the button
- Keep the camera powered on.
- Find the reset button — usually a small recessed pinhole on the back, base, or under a rubber flap. Battery cameras may have it inside the cover near the SD slot.
- Press and hold the reset button for 5–10 seconds until you hear a voice prompt ("Reset successful" / "Camera reset") or the LED changes.
- Wait about a minute. The camera reboots and enters pairing mode (often a blinking light or a "ready to connect" prompt).
- Re-add it in the app via Scan to add (QR), Camera hotspot add, or Add manually. See offline troubleshooting for the full re-pair flow.
If there's no physical button, look for Settings → Reset to defaults inside the camera's app menu (available when it's still online).
How to update firmware safely
- Open the camera in the app, go to Settings → Device Info or Firmware Update.
- If a new version is shown, read the notes and tap Update.
- Do not power off the camera, close the app, or leave Wi-Fi range during the update. Interrupting a firmware flash is the main way cameras get bricked.
- Keep the camera close to the router and on a stable connection. For battery models, charge above ~50% first.
- The camera reboots when done — give it 2–3 minutes before expecting live view.
Tips and recovery
- Update one camera at a time on NVR kits; the NVR may push firmware to each channel.
- If a stalled update leaves a camera unresponsive, power-cycle it and retry the update once before assuming hardware damage.

If the camera is unresponsive after a failed update, contact [email protected] with your model and order details — don't keep retrying a clearly damaged unit.
