Motion alerts and fixing missing notifications
Set up YESKAMO motion detection, tune zones and sensitivity, and fix missing push notifications using app and phone system settings.
Motion detection is what turns a camera into a real security tool. This guide shows how to switch it on, reduce false alarms, and — the most common complaint — fix the case where motion is recorded but no push notification arrives on your phone.
Tested with the YESKAMO app v4.9.7 (June 2026) on iOS and Android. Menu labels vary slightly by camera model and firmware.
Turn on motion detection
- Open the YESKAMO app and tap your camera, then open Settings (gear icon).
- Find Alarm, Motion Detection, or Notification and enable it.
- Enable Push Notification (sometimes called App Alarm) so alerts reach your phone, not just the camera's local recording.
Tune zones and sensitivity
Too many alerts usually means sensitivity is too high or you're watching a busy area:
- Sensitivity — Lower it if trees, traffic or shadows trigger constant alerts; raise it if real movement is missed.
- Detection zones / area — Draw a grid box around just the doorway or driveway so a passing car on the street is ignored.
- Schedule — Some models let you arm alerts only at night or while you're out.
For smarter human/vehicle-only alerts, see the AI Alerts plan in Cloud storage & plans.
No push notifications? Fix it step by step
If clips record but your phone stays silent, the cause is almost always a system setting, not the camera:
- Phone notification permission — iOS: Settings → Notifications → YESKAMO → allow alerts, sounds and banners. Android: Settings → Apps → YESKAMO → Notifications → turn on.
- Battery saver / background limits — Android battery optimisation kills background apps and blocks pushes. Set YESKAMO to Unrestricted / Don't optimise. On iOS, enable Background App Refresh.
- Do Not Disturb / Focus — Make sure a Focus mode isn't silencing the app.
- In-app toggle — Re-check that Push Notification is on per camera, since it can reset after a firmware update.
- Re-log in — Sign out and back in to refresh the push token, then send a test by waving in front of the camera.
If alerts still fail across multiple phones, the camera may be offline — see Troubleshooting. Persistent push issues can be reported to [email protected].
